Impact and participation improvement for people with eyesight disabilities

Project period: 01.10.2021 – 30.11.2022 

ACF Fund operator in Estonia is Open Estonia Foundation in cooperation with the Network of Estonian Nonprofit Organizations (NENO).

Project Objective

Strengthen social involvement of the blind and partially seeing, who are very vulnerable in Estonia. Increase general awareness and understanding of people with eyesight disabilities.

  • Empower organizations representing blind and partially seeing people to impact political balance and decision-making.
  • Improve representing organization’s communication, marketing and participation abilities.
  • Support peer communications and cooperation, participation in community activities.
  • Improve social entrepreneurship in organizations that represent blind and partially seeing people.

Target groups

  • All people with eyesight disabilities in Estonia. In this project, they are both target group and end users.
  • People responsible for political decisions, various government authorities and organizations.
  • Groups of adults in Estonia with various backgrounds, who want to widen their horizons and understanding, support enterprises for vulnerable groups; who are interested in cultural events, handcraft, lifestyle.
  • People who do or support volunteer labor in Estonia.
  • Executives and managers of various enterprises and organizations in Estonia.

Key activities

  • A round table to establish cooperation with politicians.
  • Search for mentors and sponsors in enterprises and private sector in general.
  • Educational charity festival, other events to raise awareness.
  • Search for new continuous supporters, keeping existing ones.
  • Development of specialized rehabilitation activities.
  • Consult the project team about specialized organization management and entrepreneurship to improve reliable communication.

 

Partners

Estonian Blind Union: serves as general representative organization for people with eyesight disabilities, provides competence in broad-scope, long-term cooperation.

Rehabilitation Center for people with eyesight disabilities: provides competence in rehabilitation for the target group.

Terateater: provides competence in public announcements and communications.

Project pudget: The total cost is 22 980,42, the ACF supports in the amount of 19 997,42 eur.
